Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Clinical Coding Specialist to join the Revenue Operations and Coding team. This remote role supports accurate CPT, ICD-10, and related coding to ensure compliant billing and data integrity across systems.

Ideal candidates hold RHIA/RHIT and CCS/CPC credentials with 5+ years in complex or multi‑specialty coding, including oncology. The role offers quarterly meetings in Texas and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years clinical coding experience in complex or multi‑specialties
• Preferred: oncology coding, EPIC experience, auditing experience
• Documentation and coding accuracy required to support compliant billing

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with coding team members, management, business office staff, and external stakeholders
• Provide detailed questions and feedback to management and coordinators on coding issues, reviews, and training needs
• Offer supportive input on internal and external coding correction requests and re‑reviews
• Report workflow issues and system concerns promptly to management
• Analyze medical records and abstract clinical data using established classification systems
• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes based on patient documentation
• Enter coded data into hospital systems for billing and reimbursement processes
• Serve as a resource for department users regarding coded data interpretation
