Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical record technology course.
• Minimum one year of medical coding experience; three years preferred.
• Certification preferred; RHIT beneficial for senior level.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation; abstract information to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Apply coding knowledge across oncology specialties and related clinic services.
• Ensure codes meet guidelines, payer requirements, and Texas Oncology policies.
• Identify documentation gaps and obtain clarification from providers.
• Support denial prevention, revenue integrity, and ongoing coding education.
