Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is seeking a Clinical Assistant 2 to provide skilled clinical and administrative support in a rural ambulatory care clinic in Southeast Alaska. You will perform extended duties including nebulizer treatments, minor procedures, POCT, data entry, and patient education while maintaining efficient patient flow.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, current BLS, and at least one year of CA1/healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Clinical Competency completion within 3 months of hire and every 3 years required.
• One year experience as a CA 1 with SEARHC or equivalent healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs Clinical Assistant 1 duties with more experience and knowledge.
• Prepares for patient visits by reviewing charts and required forms.
• Records age-appropriate vital signs per protocol.
• Updates medical history and medication history.
• Documents information accurately in patient charts.
• Keeps patient records organized with proper forms.
• Ensures medication and immunization records are current.
• Transport patients as needed within the facility.
• Supports clinic flow and patient care duties smoothly.
• Notifies supervisor of safety concerns or changes in patient condition.
• Provides basic education materials and discharge instructions.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Certified Medical Assistant certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years

One year experience as CA 1 / CNA / EMT / CHA
