Job summary

SEARHC seeks a Clinical Assistant 2 to support rural ambulatory care, handling administrative duties and basic clinical tasks beyond the CLINICAL ASSISTANT 1 scope. You will assist with rooming, POCT, and medication history updates while maintaining patient flow and chart accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED – required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification – required; higher-level certification considered.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
• Clinical Competency completed within 3 months of hire – required.
• Able to use EMR systems to record patient data.

Responsibilities

• Performs Clinical Assistant 1 duties with more experience and judgment.
• Prepares for patient visits by reviewing chart and needed forms.
• Obtains and records age-appropriate vital signs and medical history updates.
• Documents information in patient charts and maintains records accurately.
• Assists with procedures, POCT, and minor office surgeries as ordered.
• Sanitizes exam rooms and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Provides basic patient education and discharge instructions.
• Cross-coverage for peers and attends staff meetings as required.
