Job summary

SEARHC is seeking a Clinical Assistant 2 to support a rural ambulatory clinic in Southeast Alaska. You will perform advanced clinical duties, assist with patient visits, and manage data entry to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care.

The role requires CMA certification (or equivalent) within 1 year, BLS, and healthcare experience. You will work closely with providers, perform POCT, vital signs, and basic nursing tasks while maintaining a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification required; must obtain CMA certification within 1 year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Clinical competency demonstrated within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
• One year healthcare or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing charts and needed forms.
• Record age-appropriate vital signs and medical history updates.
• Assist with procedures, minor surgeries, and point-of-care testing.
• Perform administrative duties and data entry in patient records.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and proper equipment setup.
