Job summary

AltaPointe Health seeks an accounting professional to oversee Client Financial Services and Consumer Funds Accounting functions, ensuring SSA compliance and paperless filing transitions. The role includes supervising billing, month-end close, and administrative duties while mentoring staff.

You will work with case management and benefits staff to maintain accurate records, reconcile accounts, and prepare timely statements for consumers and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of two years accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Windows applications (advanced skills required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Client Financial Services and Money Management processes.
• Ensure compliance with Social Security Administration regulations.
• Collaborate with Benefits Specialists to secure proper documentation for Social Security.
• Enforce and update policies and procedures as needed.
• Conduct initial training and semi-annual refreshers for new and existing case managers.
• Liaise with case management supervisors regarding related duties.
• Streamline processes to improve efficiency for case managers and financial services staff.
• Champion the transition to a paperless environment by implementing and maintaining electronic filing systems.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
• Manage Consumer Funds Accounting; implement controls to prevent misappropriation of consumer funds.
• Verify ACH deposits from Social Security are recorded; ensure timely processing of weekly allowances and checks.
• Oversee disbursement recording and recoupment; distribute monthly statements by the 10th.
• Maintain organized client financial service files per Social Security guidelines.
• Reconcile payments to Alabama Able accounts; reconcile debit card payments.
• Audit individual consumer accounts for accuracy and compliance.
• Take ownership of the ticketing system from request to check printing; follow up on non-compliant tickets.
• Provide guidance to accounting clerks; conduct regular team meetings and evaluations.
