AltaPointe Health is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support Adult Residential Services and Adult Community Services housing activities, ensuring day-to-day and month-end accounting tasks are completed accurately.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business and at least two years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and ERP-like system skills. Knowledge of HUD rules and HIPAA compliance is a plus, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and strict deadlines.

AltaPointe Health Systems is a comprehensive behavioral healthcare and psychiatric hospital system. Our continuum of care includes two psychiatric hospitals, multiple behavioral health, and primary care outpatient locations, and residential services. The Accounting Coordinator position will have an emphasis on supporting the housing team with business and accounting needs. The position is responsible for overseeing the day to day and month-end accounting duties for Adult Residential Services and Adult Community Services housing activities, as well as maintaining compliance with audits by housing funding agencies, such as Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Housing First, Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA), and Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH).

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; two years of accounting experience preferred. Applicant should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to process and analyze large volumes of electronic data or handwritten data. Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Electronic Health Record systems. Has the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Working knowledge of HUD rules and regulations is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA and relative compliance is a plus.
