Job summary
Peraton seeks a Senior Network Engineer to support DoD/IC customers with a high-performing team. You will participate in Agile processes, design and document WANs/LANs, and guide Tier teams in troubleshooting network issues.
The role involves configuring firewalls, switches, and routers, and implementing automation to improve cloud network operations. You will create scalable network architectures for new customer systems and coordinate incident documentation and resolution with tenants.
Qualifications
- Active Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- 10+ years in network engineering or 8+ years with advanced degrees.
- DoD 8140 foundational requirements met for a Network Operations Specialist.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining networks in a classified environment.
- Experience configuring VLANs, VPNs, firewalls/switches/routers (Cisco/Arista/Brocade/Juniper/Palo Alto).
- Secure network and keep device software up to date per DoD policies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and plan work for sprints.
- Develop and document WANs/LANs for cloud networking.
- Provide guidance to Tier teams on network anomalies.
- Configure firewalls, switches, and routers; support other tasks.
- Design automation for cloud network infrastructure and operations.
- Create highly available, scalable network architectures for new systems.
- Coordinate with tenants to document incidents through ticketing tools.
- Use monitoring tools to gain insights and act on results.
- Produce network designs, implementation plans, and operational docs.
- Evaluate cloud networking solutions and assist in equipment procurement.
