Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Washington, DC. You will provide expert-level technical assistance for complex issues, focusing on Tier III analysis, root cause investigation, and permanent solutions.

The role requires DoD/government experience, security clearances, and advanced networking certifications. Target salary range is $135,000–$216,000 with potential bonuses and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Must be able to work shift schedule (Panama) supporting 24/7 operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT related field and 8 years of related experience or commensurate combination.
• CCNA certification required.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure for routing and switching.
• Experience with DNS/FTP/SSH/SNMP.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs; SDN emerging concepts.
• Prior DoD/government customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify network drawings and author system engineering documents.
• Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews.
• Support network operations of the Production system.
• Provide recommendations on modern engineering approaches for deployments.
• Develop, implement, and manage network engineering processes and standards.
• Perform capacity planning by monitoring network performance and availability.
• Research and evaluate tools/tech to improve performance and lower TCO.
