Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Administration’s Division of State Human Resources seeks a Classification and Compensation Manager to lead the statewide classification and compensation program, overseeing studies, policy design, and salary analyses to align with state goals. • Master's degree in HR or public administration with 2 years' HR experience, or a bachelor's with 4+ years.
• Strong oral and written communication, plus ability to present to executives.
• Expert knowledge of classification and compensation and policy development.
• Ability to analyze customer needs and prepare strategic HR recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting services to state agencies on compensation and equity.
• Plan and conduct statewide classification studies and write job descriptions.
• Conduct salary surveys to set market targets and adjust pay plans.
• Administer statewide compensation plan, pay structures and policies.
• Research policy alternatives to improve compensation programs.
