Description of Work

The Assistant Classification and Compensation Manager supports the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's classification and compensation programs. This role ensures job structures are accurate, equitable, and aligned with organizational goals while helping maintain competitive and compliant pay practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of job descriptions and classification structures.
  • Support job evaluation processes to ensure internal equity and consistency across departments.
  • Conduct market salary analyses using established benchmarking tools and external data sources.
  • Help administer compensation programs, including salary adjustments, reclassifications, and pay plan updates.
  • Collaborate with HR partners, managers, and leaders to provide guidance on classification and compensation policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation to support compensation decisions and audits.
  • Assist with compliance reviews to ensure alignment with federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Support special projects such as pay studies, organizational restructuring efforts, or policy updates.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $70,627- $137,724

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

  • Considerable to thorough knowledge of comprehensive principles and practices of human resource management in designated area; management concepts, principles, methods and practices; state and federal rules and laws; equal opportunity guidelines, personnel administration; supervisory principles and practices.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate work and activities of others; to analyze complex situations and adopt an appropriate course of action; plan and coordinate the activities of designated work functions.
