Job summary

UNC Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Senior Classification and Compensation Consultant to drive excellence in the university’s workforce infrastructure. You will independently evaluate complex position classifications, determine FLSA and EHRA exemption statuses, and perform market and internal equity reviews to support fair pay practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 5+ years of compensation analysis experience.
• Experience with compensation software and HRIS systems.
• Proven ability to conduct market pricing and internal equity reviews.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform market and equity analyses of positions to assess salaries.
• Analyze market data to update ranges and ensure competitive compensation.
• Conduct job analyses, determine classifications and exemption statuses, and provide organizational design recommendations.
• Advise campus and HR partners on compensation matters and exemption determinations.
• Develop and deliver training programs on compensation concepts and processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in compensation practices.
