Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in Indianapolis seeks a Senior Claims Specialist to analyze and process moderately to complex commercial property/casualty claims, including bodily injury or property loss, within authority limits. You will plan investigations, assess coverage and reserves, negotiate settlements, coordinate litigation, mentor teammates, and participate in reviews and meetings.

Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years related experience; licenses required; strong negotiation and leadership skills

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of claims case handling practices, legal liability, and policy coverage.
Bachelor's degree plus 3–5 years directly related work experience.
Required to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses.

Responsibilities

Plans and conducts investigations of claims to analyze coverage and determine liability and damages.
Assesses policy coverage and reserves, adjusting as necessary during processing.
Negotiates settlements within authority limits.
Coordinates litigation activities and attends trials as a company representative.
Mentors and trains new team members and participates in Quality Review processes.
Participates in Suit Committees, Roundtables, Arbitrations, Mediations, and field investigations.
