Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills are expected.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages, investigates, and resolves claims. Evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and settles claims within authority.
• Identifies suspicious claims and refers to SIU; pursues subrogation opportunities.
• Communicates with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather information and advise on actions; responds to inquiries and status reports.
• Ensures adequacy of reserves for claims.
• Coordinates security of financial processing and confidential claim information.
• Negotiates settlements with attorneys, claimants, and/or co-defendants; arranges for expert inspections as needed.
• Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required.
