Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Claims Representative to handle complex and mid-to-high exposure bodily injury and property damage claims under Ryder's self-administered liability program.

You will investigate, adjust, and direct defense counsel, independent adjusters, and experts to manage claims. The role requires strong negotiation, documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards, with interaction across field operations, legal counsel, and insurance partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in casualty claims is required.
• Adjuster license(s) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts complex and mid-to-high exposure claims.
• Directs defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts and other vendors.
• Supervises outside vendors to ensure compliant handling per jurisdiction.
• Alerts senior management to legal changes impacting the program.
• Interacts with field operations, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, carriers and claimants.
• Involves setting reserves and preparing detailed internal reports.
