Job summary

AAA in Texas seeks a senior Claims Managing Attorney to lead in-house claims legal offices, oversee subrogation, and guide attorneys and paralegals across multiple offices. The role ensures compliance with statutes and best practices while supporting the Claims Business Unit with strategic legal leadership.

The position requires JD, 7–9 years of insurance defense law, and state bar membership, with 1–3 years of management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• JD required to practice in the state.
• 7-9 years Insurance defense law experience required.
• 1-3 years Management experience preferred.
• Advanced leadership abilities required.
• Advanced interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills required.
• Must be member of state bar within the state of practice.
• Certified Legal Professional - National Association of Legal Assistants required.

Responsibilities

• Manage attorneys and paralegals across multiple offices, ensuring staffing, training, audits, and client satisfaction.
• Coach employees to meet performance metrics and manage salary recommendations.
• Assign and direct work to attorneys, reviewing for compliance and cost control.
• Coordinate and lead attorney file reviews, investigations, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Identify issues, solve problems, and handle client complaints expediently.
• Provide legal opinions and guidance on policy interpretation and regulatory decisions.
• Prepare and present training programs and reports for upper management.
• Monitor office performance and develop strategies for high-quality legal service.
• Provide legal guidance to handling attorneys across offices.
• Direct day-to-day operations and staff activities to ensure effective service.
