Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• JD preferred but not required.
• 7–10 years of experience in handling general liability claims and/or relevant litigation experience.
• Prior experience evaluating complex coverage issues related to CGL policies.
• Experience working with and managing TPAs.
• Demonstrated success managing litigation, evaluating and negotiating claims, involving both property damage and bodily injury exposures.
• Customer focus with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• High degree of personal organization and time management skills.
• Pro-active. Must have a sense of urgency.
• Ability to prioritize and perform successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee claims managed by a Third Party Administrator and handle primary and excess claims.
• Perform coverage analysis, investigate liability and defenses, and provide reserve evaluations.
• Audit claim systems and participate in on-site visits.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as needed to negotiate settlements.
• Provide timely information to underwriters, actuaries and reinsurers regarding losses.
