Job summary

Starr is seeking a seasoned claims professional to oversee and handle a diverse inventory of general liability claims. The role involves close collaboration with TPAs, underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers to ensure accurate coverage analysis and timely reserves.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10 years of liability claim or litigation experience, a strong eye for detail, and exceptional communication. Travel may be required to support settlements and mediations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred but not mandatory.
• 7–10 years of experience handling general liability claims or relevant litigation.
• Experience evaluating complex coverage issues related to CGL policies.
• Proven ability to manage TPAs and coordinate with underwriters and reinsurers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee claims managed by TPAs and handle primary/excess claims across jurisdictions.
• Perform coverage analysis, liability investigations, and timely reserves.
• Audit claim systems and conduct on-site visits as needed.
• Attend mediations and trials to negotiate settlements when appropriate.
• Provide timely information to underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers.
