Starr Adjustment Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Excess Claims Manager to handle excess claims across the United States for Starr insureds. The role requires prompt coverage analysis, liability determinations, and timely reserve evaluations.

You will attend mediations and settlement conferences, and may participate in trials to negotiate cost-effective settlements. Interaction with underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers on trends and individual claims is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in excess claims handling including NY Labor Law.
• Superior negotiation and litigation management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Must have a pro-active approach and willingness to travel.
• Insurance adjuster licenses must be obtained where needed.
• Broad licensing preferred.

Responsabilités

• Handle excess claims throughout the United States involving Starr insureds with prompt coverage analysis and liability determinations.
• Investigate alleged damages and evaluate reserves in a timely manner.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and potentially trials to negotiate settlements.
