Job summary

Markel in New York seeks a senior claims professional to resolve moderate to high complexity management liability claims, including D&O, EPL and Fiduciary Liability. You will analyze coverage, negotiate settlements, and manage nationwide litigation with defense counsel.

This role requires 3–5+ years of management liability experience, a college degree or JD preferred, and US work authorization. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote, with opportunities for an annual incentive plan.

• JD or professional designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, negotiate, and settle complex management liability claims including D&O, EPL, and Fiduciary Liability.
• Investigate and analyze coverage under primary and excess management liability policies; draft routine and complex coverage correspondence.
• Manage nationwide litigation; direct defense counsel and coordinate with internal teams.
• Communicate developments to underwriting and Claims Manager; report on significant matters.
• Mentor teammates and participate in broker meetings as required.
