Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Claims Examiner, Casualty for the Middle Market Casualty Team to actively manage commercial claims across the United States.

The role focuses on coverage analysis, strategy development, and timely resolution of medium-severity claims, with travel as needed. The candidate should have 3–5 years of Casualty experience, strong communication and negotiation abilities, and be licensed as an adjuster in applicable states.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of casualty claims experience with a primary or excess carrier.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Hybrid role: 3 days in office.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues and draft coverage position letters.
• Develop and implement strategy for coverage issues.
• Develop and implement timely resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures.
• Maintain contact with claims staff, underwriters, defense counsel, program manager and broker.
• Investigate claims and review insureds' materials and pleadings.
• Identify applicable statutes, rules and case law per jurisdiction.
• Review litigation materials including depositions and expert reports.
• Analyze risk transfer and indemnity issues; direct counsel as needed.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages for reserves; present evaluations to senior management.
• Travel within the United States for mediations, trials and relevant proceedings.
• Negotiate resolution of claims; select and utilize structure brokers.
• Maintain a diary of all claims and respond to inquiries promptly.
