Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Claims Examiner, Casualty to actively manage commercial general liability and related excess policies across jurisdictions in the United States. The role emphasizes evaluating coverage, formulating defense and settlement strategies, and coordinating with carriers and counsel.

You will analyze risk transfer, indemnity issues, and reserves, and prepare reports for senior management while supporting mediations and trials nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years working experience with casualty claims; primary/excess carrier support; Casualty/Construction a plus.
• Active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues; draft coverage position letters; retain/coordinate with coverage counsel as needed.
• Develop and implement strategy for coverage issues aligned with the handler's matters.
• Develop timely resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures.
• Maintain contact with claims staff, underwriters, counsel, and management to communicate developments.
• Investigate claims and review insureds’ materials and relevant documents.
• Review applicable statutes, rules, and case law per jurisdiction.
• Review litigation materials including depositions and expert reports.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages for reserving purposes; prepare reserves reports.
• Travel within the United States for mediations, trials and relevant proceedings.
• Negotiate resolutions and select/engage structure brokers.
