Job summary

MSIG USA, the US-based subsidiary of MS&AD Insurance Group, seeks a results-driven claims adjuster to handle moderate to complex assignments within delegated authority. You will investigate, assess coverage and liability, and work with clients to settle fairly and promptly.

This role requires strong negotiation skills, timely diary maintenance, accurate reporting, and compliance with state regulations. A high school diploma is required; a BA is preferred, with 5+ years of claims experience

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred.
• 5+ years of claims experience.
• Licensing in other states that would reciprocate to handling claims in West Virginia (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Receives new claim assignments and analyzes the claim to determine required investigations and handling.
• Performs timely investigations and necessary surveys in compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Initiates reserve changes within delegated authority and recommends actions to supervisor.
• Manages, controls, and negotiates timely and equitable claim payments and settlements.
• Maintains accurate diary and documentation; submits required forms and reports.
• May handle subrogation within authority; negotiates settlements with carriers.
• May assign defense of lawsuits to approved counsel and monitor related costs.
• Maintains communications with insureds, claimants, brokers, and clients throughout the process.
• Completes data reports to state agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintains licensing and ongoing education requirements for state compliance.
