Job summary

William Charles Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator (Civil/Structures) to join our team. This role focuses on accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy highway projects, earthwork, underground utilities, and paving.

Responsibilities include bid analysis, risk assessment, and presenting estimates to stakeholders. Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management background with 5+ years in heavy civil estimating, experience with INDOT/IDOT preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in heavy civil estimating.
• Experience with earthwork and underground; PCC paving and concrete knowledge a plus.
• IDOT/INDOT experience preferred.
• Proficient in Bid2Win or similar estimating software; Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCAD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret contract documents to produce accurate, detailed cost estimates.
• Develop preliminary budget and itemized summary for go/no-go decisions.
• Identify issues and develop risk exposure with cost impacts.
• Provide value engineering solutions and strategic estimates.
• Communicate with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop bid schedules with operations teams.
• Present complete estimates to support decision making.
• Represent the company at pre-bids and site visits.
