Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, is hiring a Senior Estimator for civil/structural projects. You will develop accurate cost estimates for heavy highway and earthwork, analyze contract docs, and present estimates to leadership.

Travel between Illinois and Indiana offices may be required; a strong background in earthwork and underground work is essential. The role is based in one of our Illinois offices (Rockford, Chicago, Peoria, Springfield) with a history of large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating.
• Extensive earthwork and underground experience required; PCC paving and concrete knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret contract documents for accurate estimates.
• Develop preliminary budgets and itemized summaries for go/no-go decisions.
• Identify issues and develop risk exposure with cost impacts.
• Provide strategic thinking and value engineering solutions.
• Communicate with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and bid schedule development.
• Present complete estimates to support decision making.
