Job summary

William Charles Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator (Civil/Structures) to join our team. The role focuses on heavy civil projects, highways and roadways, with duties including takeoffs, cost estimates, and risk analysis for bids.

The position offers opportunities across Illinois and Indiana offices and travel for pre-bid site visits. The candidate should have a civil/structural engineering or construction management background with at least 5 years in heavy civil estimating, plus

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities and PCC paving.
• Proficient in interpreting contract documents and preparing detailed cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents to develop accurate estimates and bid summaries.
• Develop preliminary budgets for go/no-go decisions and risk exposure.
• Create bid schedules with input from scheduling and operations teams.
• Present complete estimates to project stakeholders and participate in pre-bid/site visits.
