Job summary

Orbital is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 7+ years of experience to support Heavy Industrial projects in our Civil/Structural Engineering Department in a Hybrid role for our Baton Rouge, LA Office.

This role requires project and resource management in a consulting setting and a strong background in heavy industrial retrofit engineering across petrochemical, oil & gas, and related industries.

Qualifications

• PE license is required.
• 7+ years in heavy industrial civil/structural engineering.
• Experience with capital/maintenance project execution preferred.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with AISC/ASCE-7/ACI/API codes.

Responsibilities

• Field visits for project scoping and estimation.
• Provide field engineering support at client sites.
• Review calculations and drawings produced by others.
• Model structures using STAAD Pro or equivalent.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Manage project progress per plan, schedule and budget.
