Job summary

Orbital Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support single and multi-discipline projects in the Baton Rouge region. The role involves reviewing RFPs, developing piping designs, conducting pipe stress analysis, and providing technical support across sectors including Metals and Oil & Gas.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of professional experience, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, and AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for various mechanical systems.
• 5-10 years of prior professional experience in heavy industrial or similar settings.
• Exposure to Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical, or Utilities & Power Generation industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Review client requests for proposals and scopes of work; act as Orbital representative at bid walkdowns.
• Evaluate piping specifications and equipment designs for heavy industrial applications.
• Perform pipe stress and hydraulic analyses.
• Prepare equipment specifications and scopes of work; assist procurement and construction through bid submittals.
