Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA to manage multi-discipline projects in the heavy industrial sector. The role requires PE status, 10–15 years of experience, and strong knowledge of piping, equipment design, and code interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• PE certification required or able to obtain in other states.
• 10–15 years of prior professional experience.
• Exposure to Refineries & Petrochemical and Midstream Oil & Gas industries.
• Strong mechanical aptitude of various mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and CAESAR.

Responsibilities

• Review proposals, scopes of work, and bids; act as Orbital representative.
• Develop piping specs and equipment designs for heavy industrial apps.
• Perform pipe stress and hydraulic analyses and calculations.
• Prepare specs, bid tabs, and review vendor submittals.
• Manage project progress relative to plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical support and assist business development as a technical resource.
• Supervise others; possibly act as project manager or technical consultant.
