Job summary
Mott MacDonald in Houston/The Woodlands, TX, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for civil and structural engineering across energy infrastructure projects. You will mentor engineers, manage complex utility deliverables, and guide discipline teams to ensure quality, on-time results.
You will lead transmission/substation programs at 138kV and higher, collaborate with clients, and contribute to grid modernization efforts while benefiting from a hybrid in-office
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of civil/structural utility project delivery experience.
- Experience with 138kV+ transmission and substation programs.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, SAP2000.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical leader for civil and structural engineering activities.
- Act as Engineer of Record, technical reviewer, or discipline lead for major projects.
- Establish engineering approaches, design criteria, standards, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers; lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Support recruitment, succession planning, and capability development.
