Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical leadership across transmission, substation, and power system infrastructure projects in North America. You will mentor engineers, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality engineering outcomes for utility clients.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, client-facing activities, and ongoing development of technical capabilities within the Energy practice.

Qualifications

• PE license required in one or more southwest states.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical utility, power systems, transmission, distribution, substation, and/or energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering projects for electric utilities, municipalities, independent power producers, renewable energy clients, or industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems, substation design, utility protection schemes, power system studies, and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead as a senior technical lead for transmission, substation, power systems, and/or utility infrastructure projects; serve as SME in one or more disciplines.
• Provide engineering leadership through planning, studies, design, procurement support, construction support, commissioning, and readiness activities.
• Establish technical approaches, methodologies, and design strategies for complex projects.
