Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Houston to provide technical leadership across transmission, substation, protection & controls, and power system projects. You will mentor engineers and guide multi-discipline teams to deliver complex utility infrastructure.

Qualifications

PE license in one or more southwest states.
10+ years of experience in electrical utility, power systems, transmission, distribution, substation, and/or energy infrastructure projects.
Experience delivering projects for electric utilities, municipalities, independent power producers, renewable energy clients, or industrial facilities.
Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems, substation design, protection schemes, power system studies, and industry standards.
Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for transmission, substation, power systems, and utility projects.
Guide planning, studies, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and readiness activities.
Develop technical approaches, design strategies, and QA for complex projects.
Mentor engineers and support talent development.
Coordinate disciplines and manage risks and client expectations.
