Job summary
Mott MacDonald is seeking a licensed Project Engineer to lead civil and structural services for transmission line, substation, and energy infrastructure projects across the Southwest and North America. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver critical infrastructure, and interact with utility clients.
The role requires a PE license, 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong collaboration to meet grid reliability and renewable integration goals.
Qualifications
- PE license required to serve clients in the Southwest.
- 7+ years of civil/structural engineering experience in electric utility/energy sectors.
- Experience with transmission line foundations, substation foundations, and utility structures.
- Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, RISA, SAP2000.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and interact with clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead civil & structural engineering delivery for transmission line and substation projects.
- Develop and review engineering calculations, reports, design criteria, specs, and drawings.
- Coordinate with survey, GIS, environmental, and geotechnical teams for project execution.
- Lead design and analysis of foundations, reinforced concrete, and structural components.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to standards and tools.
