Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a licensed Project Engineer to support civil and structural services for transmission lines, substations, and energy infrastructure across North America. The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience and PE licensure, with leadership of engineering tasks and multidisciplinary teams.

You will interact with clients, coordinate with geotech, survey, GIS, and protection teams, and mentor junior staff while driving quality and delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE license.
• 7+ years delivering civil/structural projects for electric utility or energy sectors.
• Experience with foundations for transmission lines, substations, and equipment supports.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, RISA, SAP2000.
• Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural design for transmission and substation projects.
• Develop engineering calculations, reports, criteria, specs, drawings, and estimates.
• Coordinate with survey, GIS, environmental, and geotechnical teams.
• Coordinate design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews.
• Support project managers with scope, resources, schedule, and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standards and best practices.
