Job summary

NextDecade seeks a Senior Engineer, Civil and Structural to support long-term operations at the Rio Grande LNG facility near Brownsville, Texas. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Brownfield Projects within Operations and provides civil/structural engineering support across the site.

The incumbent will review design packages, verify as-built conditions, assess loads and vibrations, and collaborate with operations, EPC contractors, and project engineering to minimize disruption and ensure

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of project design and construction engineering experience.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience in an LNG operating facility.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, ~10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for civil and structural matters at the LNG facility.
• Review design packages and perform field verifications, including as-built validation.
• Assess loads, vibrations, and tie-ins on existing infrastructure and support planning.
• Coordinate with operations, EPC contractors, and project engineering to minimize LNG disruption.
• Participate in HAZOP, constructability and risk reviews for structural modifications.
• Develop scopes of work, specs, and oversee construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory codes for civil/structural assets.
• Provide day-to-day support for plant operations and lifecycle management of critical structures.
