Job summary

NextDecade Corporation in Brownsville, Texas, seeks a Senior Engineer, Civil and Structural to support long-term operations at the Rio Grande LNG facility. You will lead technical reviews, coordinate with EPC and operations, participate in HAZOP and risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement in asset reliability,

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of project design and construction experience.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience in an LNG operating facility.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approx. 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for civil and structural matters at the LNG facility.
• Review design packages for foundations, structures, and underground systems.
• Perform field verifications and assess effects of loads on existing infrastructure.
• Support site development, grading, drainage, and constructability in constrained environments.
• Collaborate with EPC, operations, and project engineering to minimize disruption.
• Participate in HAZOP, constructability, and risk reviews for modifications.
• Develop scopes of work and oversee construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide day-to-day support for plant operations and long-term reliability.
• Act as SME for lifting activities and complex lift design planning.
