Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Senior Engineer, Civil and Structural to support long‑term operations at the Rio Grande LNG facility near Brownsville, Texas. This full‑time role is based in Brownsville and reports to senior engineering leadership with cross‑functional oversight across maintenance, reliability, and operations.

The ideal candidate will lead civil/structural design, field verification, and risk assessments, ensuring safe, compliant execution of brownfield projects and ongoing plant

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in project design and construction engineering.
• 5+ years civil engineering experience at an LNG facility.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10–15%).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for civil and structural matters.
• Review design packages for foundations, structures, and utilities.
• Conduct field verifications and as-built assessments.
• Assess impact of loads, vibrations and tie-ins on infrastructure.
• Support site development, grading, drainage, and constructability.
• Collaborate with EPC/operations to minimize LNG disruption.
• Participate in HAZOP, constructability and risk reviews.
• Develop scopes, specs, and oversee construction and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• Provide lifecycle management for civil/structural assets.
• Support day-to-day operations and reliability goals.
