Job summary

NextDecade Corporation in Brownsville, TX seeks a Senior Engineer for Brownfield Projects Mechanical to support the Rio Grande LNG facility. You will oversee FEED/EPCC activities, coordinate contractors, perform HAZID/HAZOP reviews, and ensure safe, on-schedule delivery of mechanical upgrades.

The role requires 15+ years in oil and gas, 10+ years as a Project Engineer, and strong planning, contractor management and SIMOPS experience. A PE license is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years in oil and gas.
• 10+ years as Project Engineer in oil and gas.
• 5+ years in Brownfield projects.
• PE license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare FEED and technical Work Packages (BODs).
• Prepare EPC tenders (technical part) and analyze proposals.
• Participate in technical clarifications with Contractors and Vendors.
• Issue comments on deliverables and track action closures.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/QRAs reviews and actions follow-up.
• HSE orientation training for Contractors and Vendors on site.
• Site surveys preparation and execution.
• Develop and monitor KPIs (HSE, schedule, budget, quality).
• Develop and monitor recovery plans as required.
• Process TDRs and NCRs and close out non-conformances.
• Inspections and FATs at Vendors and SATs on site.
• Implement NEXTDECADE SIMOPS and PTW requirements.
• Walkdowns and witnessing mechanical completion/commissioning activities.
• Handover of new facilities/equipment from Contractors to NEXTDECADE.
• Prepare warranty claims if any.
