Job summary

SGM Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer IV for our Glenwood Springs, CO office. This full-time role is primarily in-office with regular attendance required at our Colorado location.

You will lead small-to-mid-size projects, develop scopes and budgets, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative team. The candidate should have a PE in Colorado (or reciprocity within 90 days), deep civil design proficiency with Civil 3D, and strong hydraulics/hydrology skills using HEC-HMS, RAS, SWMM, and related

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Expert in Civil 3D and related design software.
• Hydraulic/hydrologic analysis using listed tools with basic 2D modeling knowledge.
• Safety regulations knowledge for assigned projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and proposal presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops project scopes/budgets with input from others.
• Routinely leads smaller proposal efforts and supports others.
• Manages scope, budget, and schedule for small- to mid-size projects.
• Leads development of project calculations and deliverables.
• Directs work planning, direction, and reviews with oversight as needed.
• Handles CAD responsibilities focusing on conceptual layouts.
• May perform part-time construction inspection.
• May serve as Engineer-of-Record for client projects.
