Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Engineer 5 to lead a team of engineers on critical civil infrastructure projects across the western U.S. You will oversee planning, design, bidding and construction, while strengthening client relationships and guiding business development.

Qualified candidates bring a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 15+ years of civil experience, and PE licensure in Nevada or the ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S. in Civil Engineering
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Nevada or ability to obtain it
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with project proposals, scopes, budgets, and delivery of engineering projects
• Strong staff mentorship and performance management capabilities
• Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operations oversight
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical staff on infrastructure projects from planning through construction
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, technical quality, and team workload
• Strengthen and expand client relationships and workload through value-driven engineering solutions
• Mentor staff to build a high-performing team culture focused on quality and accountability
• Identify new business opportunities through networking, proposals, and client presentations
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client management in the western U.S.
• Led refinement and implementation of the firm’s growth strategy and Denver office operations
