Job summary

Birch Creek Energy is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to manage engineering from late-stage development through construction for a growing solar/battery project pipeline across multiple states.

Reporting to the Sr Director of Execution Engineering, you will support Development, Execution Project Management, and Project Finance while traveling up to 25% per month. Remote-work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of related project engineer experience.
• PE in Civil Engineering is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage design of ECS/SWPPP and support NPDES permitting during late-stage development.
• Attend AHJ meetings for permit applications and track comment resolution.
• Provide input on Geotech and hydrology scopes and review reports.
• Support EPC RFP process by creating exhibits, reviewing proposals, and RFIs.
• Attend site walks with EPC and AHJ during detailed design and construction.
• Manage the basis of design and specification documents and update as needed.
• Review EPC LNTP and contract technical exhibits for input.
• Lead project design meetings with EPCs and consultants.
• Review 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC design packages from Civil/Structural disciplines.
• Coordinate with Electrical Project Engineer for cohesive design approach.
• Support Project Finance during IE review and investor diligence.
• Complete submittal reviews and RFI support during construction.
• Coordinate with Execution Project Management on EPC change orders.
• Review construction photos for potential quality issues.
• Assist in gathering information to close out land disturbance and SWPPP permits.
• Evaluate MC, SC, and Final completion documentation.
