Job summary

Kleinfelder, Inc. is seeking a full-time Civil/Municipal Engineer to work with local communities on civil, municipal, and environmental projects. The role collaborates with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree and have relevant roadway and sewer design experience. Illinois PE license or progress toward it within a year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Illinois PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experiences preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
