Job summary

BLEW & Associates is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to lead and grow our civil engineering and land development practice in the Irvine market. The Market Leader will build a local practice with support from a national firm providing engineering, surveying, environmental assessment, zoning, and construction services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer license in the applicable state.
• Typically 12+ years of civil engineering experience with local land development exposure.
• Established relationships with developers, owners, architects, homebuilders, or other engineering buyers.
• Proven track record winning work and growing repeat clients.
• Experience leading profitable projects and mentoring staff.
• Strong understanding of local entitlement, permitting, and agency reviews.
• Ability to blend business development with engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a market growth plan aligned with BLEW's capabilities.
• Generate new opportunities through relationships, outreach, and BLEW's BD team.
• Expand existing BLEW client relationships and identify engineering needs.
• Lead client meetings, proposals, scope development, and fee negotiations.
• Coordinate staffing and schedules with engineering leadership and PMs.
• Provide technical leadership in site development, grading, utilities, and permitting.
• Maintain client satisfaction, budgets, scope changes, invoicing, and collections support.
• Recruit and mentor engineers and PMs as the practice grows.
• Maintain pipeline forecasts and report backlog and revenue.
