Job summary

BLEW & Associates is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to lead the growth of our civil engineering and land development practice in Los Angeles. The Market Leader will build a local practice with the support of a national firm offering engineering, surveying, environmental assessment, zoning, and construction services.

You will develop client relationships, win profitable work, guide project delivery, and recruit and mentor engineers as the practice expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• Active Professional Engineer license in the applicable state.
• Typically 12+ years of civil engineering experience with land development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a market growth plan focused on BLEW’s capabilities.
• Generate new engineering opportunities through relationships and outreach.
• Expand relationships with existing clients and identify service needs.
• Lead client meetings, proposals, scope development, and fee negotiations.
• Coordinate staffing and schedules with leadership and PMs.
• Provide technical leadership in site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting.
• Maintain client satisfaction, budgets, scope changes, invoicing, and collections support.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and PMs as the practice grows.
• Maintain pipeline forecasts and report backlog, revenue, profitability, and staffing needs.
• Support BLEW’s quality standards and professional engineering responsibilities.
