Job summary

York Law Firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal (Civil Litigation) to support attorneys through all phases of litigation. The role emphasizes case management, discovery, and trial preparation in a busy California practice.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation, with strong organizational, research, and communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive salary plus bonus and overtime where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Prefer California-based civil litigation experience.
• A four-year college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and post-trial matters.
• Manage, organize, and review case files, exhibits, and discovery materials; ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct legal research and analysis; prepare summaries of case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions; oversee e-discovery processes.
• Coordinate exhibits for depositions and trial, assist in trial preparation, including exhibits and trial binders; manage witness scheduling and logistics.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and ensure alignment with client goals; mentor junior staff.
