Job summary

Abbey, Weitzenberg, Warren & Emery seeks a Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience to join our plaintiff's practice. The ideal candidate will manage cases, collaborate with clients and team members, and support all phases of litigation.

The position requires strong drafting, organization, and research skills, with access to Prolaw/Case Management and Westlaw. Salary is competitive, with hourly compensation and benefits available for a full-time role in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
  • 3+ years of progressively increasing responsibility as a Paralegal in civil litigation.
  • California paralegal requirements compliance required.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings and pre-hearing pleadings including discovery requests and subpoenas.
  • Manage document collection and production.
  • Draft meet and confer correspondence.
  • Organize and summarize client and opposing documents and evidence.
  • Draft fact/chronology summaries.
  • Handle all aspects of trial preparation and exhibits.
  • Conduct Westlaw legal research.
  • Prepare related summaries and analysis with trial support.

Abbey, Weitzenberg, Warren & Emery is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience to join our plaintiff's practice. This is an outstanding job opportunity for the right person. The following qualities are desired:

Skills:

Advanced level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat Professional required. Familiarity and expertise in Prolaw/Case Management, CEB/Essential Forms, Trial Director and AI prompting preferred, but required is the ability to learn software applications.

Strong organization, communication, initiative, and an affinity for working in a team environment are essential. Attention to detail, flexibility, follow‑up, ability to consistently meet deadlines, the ability to multi‑task and work to efficiently bring the client's matters to conclusion in a timely manner.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Draft pleadings, includingdiscovery, responses to discovery, subpoenas, notices of deposition, affidavits, motions, supporting declarations, and other pre‑hearing pleadings
  • Management and responsibility for collecting documents and document production
  • Identify meet and confer issues and draft meet and confer correspondence
  • Organization, indexing, and summarization of client and opposing party documents and evidence
  • Draft fact/chronology summaries
  • All aspects of trial preparation: exhibit lists, evidence compilation, witness interviews and subpoenas including managing appearances, jury instructions
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw
  • Research and draft related summaries and analysis will have litigation experience including trial preparation, answering discovery, ordering and analyzing records, summarizing documents, client contact and assistance with expert witnesses.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
  • Must be in Compliance with California law paralegal requirements
  • 3+ years of progressively increasing responsibility as a Paralegal

Abbey, Weitzenberg, Warren & Emery offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. Salary range for full-time paralegal is $44-54 per hour DOE.
