Job summary

SpaceX in College Station, TX is seeking a Sr. Construction Project Manager to lead civil, structural, and utility projects from conception through close-out. You will drive safety, quality, cost controls, and schedule adherence across multi-discipline teams.

You will coordinate with facility engineers, architects, vendors, and contractors, develop ROM estimates, review bids, manage contracts, and ensure timely delivery of world-class infrastructure for our campus expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or an engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience leading civil, utility, or facility construction projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specs, and calculations.
• Familiarity with GPS and Total Stations survey equipment.
• Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of civil, structural, and utility-related projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction.
• Provide guidance on preliminary scope and ROM costs.
• Gather proposals from architects, engineers, vendors, or contractors.
• Evaluate competitive bids as appropriate.
• Review proposals for accuracy, identify cost-saving suggestions or improvements.
• Develop the final cost and schedule for the project.
• Implement controls to track and manage cost, schedule, and scope.
• Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate with city, county, building owner, and governmental approvals.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time.
• Track and approve invoicing of work.
• Manage all aspects of multi-discipline construction projects in the field.
• Coordinate with end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenance.
