Kimmel & Associates is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator – Heavy Highway to prepare and submit competitive bids for infrastructure projects in Virginia. You will work with internal teams, subs, and clients to develop accurate estimates, pricing strategies, and win-worthy proposals.

Based in Northern Virginia, the role emphasizes thorough analysis of site conditions, specs, and bid documents, with a focus on delivering timely, high-quality estimates while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in field/estimation roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in heavy civil, highways, paving or site prep is preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and specs and interpret technical docs.

Responsabilités

• Review drawings, specs, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to determine scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, bid qualifications, and pricing proposals.
• Develop self-perform estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and schedules.
• Evaluate risks, bid competitiveness, and value engineering opportunities.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits; build supplier relationships for pricing.
