Job summary

Talon Hiring Solutions partners with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify a Principal Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership, engineering oversight, and strategic guidance across large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE license, and a proven track record in site development, stormwater, utilities, and complex permitting.

You will mentor teams and drive best practices across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Proven leadership on large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of site development, stormwater, utilities, drainage and grading.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and related software.
• Willingness to travel periodically for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical authority for civil projects across the organization.
• Establish and maintain civil engineering standards, design practices, and quality expectations.
• Provide expert guidance on complex engineering, permitting and constructability challenges.
• Lead technical reviews and approve major engineering deliverables.
• Oversee civil design activities for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
• Direct development and review of site grading, drainage, utilities, and access improvements.
• Review calculations, studies, reports, specifications, and construction docs.
• Mentor engineers and project leads; support recruiting and workforce planning.
• Promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.
