Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a senior engineer to lead complex civil/ environmental/ mechanical designs focusing on site layout, grading, hydraulics, and water systems. You will review designs for regulatory compliance and contribute to technical papers and client proposals.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with sales on RFPs, and engage with clients to review current and future design needs. Travel 20–40% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency varies by duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and signs off on basic to highly complex engineering designs for site layout, grading, hydraulics, and water systems.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and firm policies.
• Mentors and trains junior staff; may supervise junior engineers on project work.
• Collaborates with sales to prepare proposals and reviews draft proposals for regulatory adherence.
